The Halloween season may be over, but in case you haven't heard, real ghosts don't simply go away after October comes to an end. But what do ghosts have to do with the Christmas season?

In Corpus Christi, apparently a great deal!

The public is invited to get to know the haunts of the city's Heritage Park in December during a series of special candlelight walking tours, a great chance to view the beautiful Victorian-style homes of this old district of the city, perhaps catch a glimpse of some of the ghosts refuted to still live there, and all the while help the local Toys for Tots program raise funds and toys to brighten the Christmas season of the less fortunate of the area.

The City of Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation’s Cultural Services division has announced a special holiday evening of the popular Heritage Park Ghost Tours benefiting Toys For Tots. Three separate tours will take visitors through Heritage Park and some of its homes rumored to be haunted. The tours will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
Join in on these candlelight walking tour in historic Heritage Park in downtown Corpus Christi and listen to stories of haunted homes, mischievous spirits and lost souls.
Who is the little boy who has been seen and heard playing around the Sidbury house?
Who is the woman watching from the second floor balcony at the McCampbell house?
Who is the man dressed in Victorian clothing that has been seen wandering the
grounds of Heritage Park at night?

Hear these chilling tales and more as you explore Corpus Christi’s most historic grounds.
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

As a special treat, ghost tours will be conducted by members of Corpus Christi’s foremost authority of paranormal investigations, CC Spook Central. For more information about CCSC please visit www.ccspookcentral.com. Among numerous outstanding awards for recognition, CCSC were recent guest investigators on the Discovery Channels program “A Haunting.”
The price for each tour is $2.00 for each adult and $1.00 for each child with the donation of a new, unwrapped Toy (valued at $5 - $10 dollars). SPACE IS LIMITED FOR EACH TOUR, so call ahead for reservations. The first tour will begin at 6:00 pm at the Galván House in the center of Heritage Park, with each tour lasting an hour and a half.
